Having Students Create an E-Book for the IPAD

Do you want your students to write and create an E-Book? Even better, you could have your students publish this e-book and read it on IPAD using I-Books. Students can take any text based file, Microsoft Word Document or PDF file and easily convert it to a format called ePub. This ePub file can by synced to your IPad and show up in iBooks in the library.

From there, students go browse through their personal created stories on the IPad. As they flip the pages, they can add sticky notes to sections of the book and look up the definition of any word they used in their story. These e-books can be shared and downloaded like any other electronic file. The beauty is these books were created by the student's themselves and they can bring them to life on the IPad.

Follow the steps below to convert your word processed story into an ePub:

1. Create a story in Microsoft Word or any other word processing document and save it your computer. (The ePub converter accepts a variety of input formats. You can for example convert from PDF to ePub, MOBI to ePub, LIT to ePub, LRF to ePub, DOC to ePub, HTML to ePub and many more.)

2. Use an ePub online generator at http://ebook.online-convert.com/convert-to-epub and upload your document.

3. Enter the ebook author's name and ebook title and click the box to convert file.

4. Follow the prompts to save the new converted ePub file (it also creates a QR code as well)

5. Now you want to sync that file to your IPad (syncing ePub file to Ipad Directions)

6. If you want you can change the cover of the book (changing book cover directions)

7. Check your iPad, and the local ePub eBooks are shown on your iBooks shelf.

Now these student created ebooks will appear on the iBooks library shelf!
