Socrative 2.0: Take a Second Look to Capture Student Thinking From Any Device or Browser

Socrative, which was acquired by Mastery Connect in June 2014, deserves a second look if you were left with disconnect and unstable responses in Socrative 1.0.  I was an avid user of Socrative when first developed and trained numerous teachers on the instructional technology.  Only to be met by unrealiable connection speeds or timeouts on the server due to the popular demand of the free interactive response system website.
Low and behold the latest release of the Socrative.  With a brand new design, layout and easy to use interface the engineers put in a complete overhaul.  As I spread the word and trained others,  I was amazed at the ease of use and simplistic layout of the site that even reluctant and low-level teachers flocked to.
Socrative lets teachers engage and assess their students with educational activities on tablets, laptops and smartphones. Through the use of real time questioning, instant result aggregation and visualization, teachers can gauge the whole class' current level of understanding. Socrative saves teachers time so the class can further collaborate, discuss, extend and grow as a community of learners.
See exactly what you students will see.  Log onto a computer and create a quiz/activity.  Grab a tablet or phone and join your room as a student. (Change room number under profile in menu top right)

1. Create quiz templates with Q1, Q2 and Q3 and just enter A, B, C, D for the answers.  Saves the time of creating all your questions.  Just hand students the quiz on paper and collect answers via Socrative.

2. Use the pre-formatted EXIT Ticket to gauge and check for understanding after a lesson

3. Use the space race activity as pre-test competitive class game.
